Purple Rain Recording From 1985

With yesterdays sad news, it wasn’t long before I remembered I had once recorded a Prince song. I loved the song Purple Rain at the time, and must have felt like I could do it justice. Whether I did or not is another question. This track was included on the album ‘Inner Dialogues‘, and is one of only a handful of cover songs I’ve ever attempted. And I’m pretty sure it’s the only 5 minute guitar solo I’ve ever recorded. This is currently not for sale or download, but you can stream it below. Paul Kitchen | Everyone Says ‘Hi’

I’m very excited about this track. I got the idea last Friday that I’d like to record a David Bowie song. And here we are a week later and its mastered, shipped and in most online stores. And I think it turned out great. David Bowie made it easy by writing a great song. This is my tribute to him. Everyone Says ‘Hi’.

New Music Released

As a prelude to my first album of new songs in over 22 years, I am releasing a few things for fun, many that have never seen the light of day. Earlier this year, I pulled all of my music from the various online outlets, in order to form a new publishing company – Self Conscious Music (BMI). So it’s time to start putting some music back out there. I am initially releasing a few singles – something I’ve never done. Full remastered album releases will follow.
