Put Your Love in My Hands Video

New Single out today. Put Your Love in My Hands was written and recorded in 1993 and originally released on the ‘And We Dream’ album. When I first gave that album out to my friends way back when, this was the version on the album. When I remastered the album and put it out to the streaming sites years later, I put another version of the song on there. Like many of the tracks on And We Dream, I cannot remix those songs. At the time I was using my Tascam 38 8 Track connected to a sequencer via SMTPE time code. I have the audio from back then, but not the sequencer tracks – where they went I don’t know. Taken from the upcoming album Trip Note 1978-2018 Vol. 3. I hope you like it. #NewSingle #NewMusic #NewMusicFriday #paulkitchen #tripnote #putyourloveinmyhands https://bit.ly/3eZ6rzX

Caught by Your Heartbeat Video

Caught by Your Heartbeat was written in 1983 and is one of my favorite songs that I’ve written. This version was originally recorded in 1986 from a collection of songs called ‘Vital Sines’ , and remixed and remastered for this release in 2021. Taken from the upcoming album Trip Note 1978-2018 Vol. 2. I hope you like it. #NewSingle #NewMusic #NewMusicFriday #paulkitchen #tripnote #heartbeat #caughtbyyourheartbeat https://bit.ly/3awWFDz

Whisper Falls Video

Whisper Falls was originally released on the ‘And We Dream’ album in 1993, with a largely electric version. That’s not the way the song was for the bulk of it’s creation, when it was largely a keyboard driven track and much more somber. Turns out by the time I had the lyrics and was ready to add vocals, the song had mutated into the released version. So I never heard it the way I thought it would end up. In 2017 I started playing with the midi files, which were originally done in Cakewalk on the PC, but made their way thru Logic Audio on the Mac and the PC. Pretty sure I only added Strat, Acoustic Guitar and Vocals to it – keeping the original midi tracks as they were, and trying to recreate those keyboard sounds in Halion and Padshop. The original also had a string outro which was not in the midi file, so I tacked that on via an old mix of the instrumental version from around 1993. I’m happy to finally hear Whisper Falls the way I thought it would be. Pretty cool. The video adds a bit of gravity to the song, which is fitting. This version is on the upcoming album Trip Note Vol. 4. I hope you like it. #NewSingle #NewMusic #NewMusicFriday #paulkitchen #tripnote #whisperfalls

Podcast Episode 16 Q3. Paul Kitchen | Live from the InSync Asylum

Two Live Performances and two unreleased tracks from Trip Note. Episode 16 of Live from the InSync Asylum!

Welcome to Episode 16 of my podcast.  Let me take you on a tour of over 40 years of words and music, Live from the InSync Asylum. Featuring rare and unreleased music as well as live performances. This episode features two unreleased tracks from Trip Note, as well as live performances of Out of the Blue and Petty Tyrant.

I wrote Petty Tyrant in 1984. Last time I played it was around 1988 (which was also pretty much the last time I played with a band). It was inspired by Carlos Castaneda. But it sounds like Buddhist take on the ego to me now. Interesting.

Also included are tracks from my recent album Magic Moon and A Matter of Time, and the stories behind them. Music not available anywhere else! Click here for the video of the live in studio performance of Out of the Blue. Click here to view the Petty Tyrant video.
