I was trying to clean up this picture of my Mom, from a large collection sent to me by my daughter Akysia. This picture really got me, and is unlike any other of my mom. The original had ‘Un-Retouched Proof’ stamped on it, so had to do some Photoshop trickery to get that off best I could. Once I was done, the picture reminded me of ‘Hard to Let Go’, a song from Living with Fiction that was written with her in mind. 30 minutes later, the artwork was done as well as a quick remaster and the track was uploaded for release….on April 24th, my Mom’s birthday.
I’m happy to announce that my new album ‘Living With Fiction‘ is released today, on my 58th birthday. It is the follow up to ‘A Matter Of Time‘ released in 2001, and the first album of all new songs since ‘And We Dream‘ released in 1993. 22 years! I was intent on completing something new, and this is what I came up with. It’s pretty dark across the board, but reflective of the past few years, and it makes a nice addition to my discography. As in past collections, I played all the instruments and handled all the engineering etc. All of the recording equipment and software was new this time around, so there was a bit of a learning curve. But I’m hoping it sounds good to you! It’s available as a digital download from most stores, and on CD only thru my website – use the Bandcamp link below for that…
